Aerial Mountains

Progress

As my quest for procedural erosion continued, I found a way to create fake erosion lines by iteratively moving a noise texture based on the normal. I found this composition by pure luck and made this clay render.

I mixed 2 rock textures with the slope as the factor. I also added volume that the mountains could cast shadows on.

I used the height and slope of the mountains and some noise to create a mask for snow.

I developed a system to displace trees out of the mountains and made a water material. Because of the camera angle, the water looks flat and unnatural because it doesn't have anything to reflect.

After tweaking the material more, I used different color correction to change the vibe of the render. The final render is the same but higher quality.
