House on a Hill

I collaborated with Colin Horvath to create a meaningful and slightly trippy visual poetry piece for a cinematography class, to the song "Is There Anybody Out There?" - Pink Floyd.

We walked around the local park shooting footage of cars, trees, and dancing, then put that video into Touch Designer, transforming it into trippy particle effects.

We used thick watercolor board to create a backdrop, draped a ripped sheet of paper over a JBL bluetooth speaker (coincidence?) for the hill, and folded an origami house. The footage was then projected onto this setup from up close with careful consideration of how to separate the house from the background.

We chose a telephoto camera angle which further separated the house from the background, shot 30 minutes of continuous footage, then edited it in Premiere Pro.
