Disney+ 8bit
This mome309 assignment had the prompt of creating a short bumper for a streaming service. After failing to create my initial idea of hand drawn chibi puppets for weeks, I revised my concept to be of retro videogame styled disney characters hanging out together. The iconic characters of Disney's IP are what attract people, so having them interacting like Super Smash Bros would excite many people.
I drew pixel art of many characters in the stle of Megaman X and Pokemon Emerald, and downscaled environments from marvel and star wars movies.Â
Rough Cut
With time running out, I realized I couldn't animate many characters fighting like Super Smash Bros, so I revised my concept again.
Final Result
I created a more compelling concept of characters actually participating in the videogames themselves, including Megaman X, Super Mario Bros, and Pong. I also redrew some characters to fit their game's artstyles and animated everything in After Effects.
